ANI    27 April 2022

The Delhi High court on Tuesday ordered the AIIMS nurses union to call off the strike and ensure that all employees including nurses who were on strike to join duty immediately.

The strike was arranged over the lack of manpower and late duty hours in the main operation theatre after a dispute between the nursing officer Harish Kajila and the Resident Doctors Association took place on April 23.

On Tuesday, the nursing staff went on an indefinite strike after the suspension of the President of AIIMS Nursing Union, Harish Kajila demanding the immediate revocation of the orders. Meanwhile, AIIMS moved the Delhi HC to seek guidelines to stop the union from turning to strike and affecting the general functioning of the hospital.

The court listed the matter for a detailed hearing scheduled on Wednesday including the petition moved by AIIMS against the strike. A representative of the AIIMS Nurses union stated that they are accepting the decision of the HC and will appear in the court on Wednesday. Further course of action will be decided based on the court’s decision.
